University Honors Program (UHP) Admissions

There are currently 3 pathways for students to enter the University Honors Program.

• Students who successfully meet their First-Year Honors Program requirements automatically move into University Honors at the conclusion of their first year.

• Lateral Admissions is available to rising sophomores who were not part of the First-Year Honors Program. Learn more about lateral admission here.

• Transfer Admissions is available to select students who have been accepted into an undergraduate program at UF:
  • Lower-division transfer students with a 3.75 GPA from their previous institution and at least 5 semesters remaining at UF (more information coming soon).
    • Note, upper-division transfer students should take advantage of the opportunity to graduate with honors in the major (disciplinary honors).
    • Note, students who have earned an A.A. degree as part of a dual enrollment program and who are admitted to UF as first time in college (FTIC) are not eligible for this agreement. Those students will need to apply for the Honors Program as part of the UF freshman application process.
